Why the Silence on the right-wing sphere over Robertson?
http://www.crooksandliars.com/2005/08/24.html#a4601

It's so quiet you can hear a pin drop.

Power Line, Michelle Malkin, (she's on vacation so her subs) Hugh Hewitt, Roger L. Simon, and many more are all silent on Pat Robertson's assassination statements so far. Anytime someone from the left criticizes the war or the President we're deemed traitors, supporting the terrorists while lowering the moral of our troops or just plain anti-military, but having one of the biggest Christian leaders (who has the President's ear) gleefully asking for a contract killing of President Hugo Chavez that could send out a message to the Middle East that we are a nation of religious zealot hit-men, dispatching our enemies with secret covert operations (ala Alias) for our own political gain is ignored.

I understand that this is a Christian Nation and all, but I thought it might elicit some sort of reply. I'm sure Mark Williams will proclaim that we should all just shut up about it: " After all there was an election already."

5. The only reason -
this story is a big deal in the main stream media is because someone on the right wants it to be. This didn't just happen.

That said, I have no idea why the right is putting distance between themselves and the "crazy christians". It is not just to provide a distraction.

19. Sorry, I cannot do that.
To answer your question I'd have to give at least one concrete example.

Stick around for a while and keep an open mind. I believe you'll see what I mean, next time a prominent Democrat gets involved in a petty scandal or says something stupid.

9. I think maybe even they realize how crazy he is?
This was covered pretty in depth on my local news last night which is unusual for a political issue. I think this is a big deal even to people who aren't political at all.

Evangelist backs off Chavez assassination call
Aug 24 12:51 PM US/Eastern

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Conservative U.S. evangelist Pat Robertson, who called for the assassination of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, said on Wednesday he was misinterpreted and there were a number of ways to "take him out" including kidnapping.

"I said our special forces could take him out. Take him out could be a number of things including kidnapping," Robertson said on his "The 700 Club" television program.

In the news item I saw he actually used the word "assassinate".

When I said "take him out" I meant you know for a drink, and maybe a snuggle.
