Is a political solution to the current situation realistic?
Assume that your candidate, whoever he may be, wins.

Now zoom ahead to October 1, 2005.

Questions:

Are there US soldiers dying and killing civilians in Iraq?

Are there US soldiers dying and killing civilians in Afghanistan?

How many human beings are in Guantanamo?

What is US annual military funding to Israel?

How many Americans live in poverty?

How many Americans are homeless?

How many Americans don't have health care?

What is the minimum wage?

What is the cost of the average apartment in the US?

Is the Patriot Act the law of the land?

How many human beings are being held without charges in the US?

How many have disappeared?

How many are being "intensively interrogated" in "friendly countries" like Egypt?

How many human beings have had their families seized and "interrogated" by employees of the US government?

Is the US a signatory to the International Criminal Court?

How many Enron executives are behind bars?

How many of your family and friends have lost jobs in the past year?

If nothing has changed since October 2003, give a brief explanation of why we are better off because your candidate won.

In compliance with proposed Rule #374-c, Section XVI, paragraph ff:

I am affiliated with no candidate, I have not endorsed, volunteered for or contributed to any candidate from any party, political, natural, supernatural or synthetic, and my post is not directed at supporters or detractors of any candidate, putative candidate, chunked formed candidate substitute, or candidate-inspired sportswear separates.

2. It's Quite a Mess to Clean Up, eh?
And you didn't even get to energy and environmental policy.

The only candidate I'm 100% confident will roll up his sleeves and break out the monkey wrench is Dennis Kucinich, and prolly CMB. The rest of 'em I'm less sure of. It would be alot easier to take our lumps and move on - especially given that congress will probably still be republican.

3. If Kucinich is elected, I think
the troops will be home and the Patriot Act gutted. I'm not sure about the other issues.
