Interesting comment on Aaron Brown (Re Wilson)
Edited on Tue Sep-30-03 09:12 PM by Cush
By John King, by doing all these speeches, the White House thinks Wilson is playing into their hands. He will appear to be a partisan Dem which will ruin the credibility of the story. If people thinks its all about politics, they won't pay attention.

Thoughts?

2. Wilson was on cnbc....
And said that he gave $2000 to Bush/Cheney campaign in 2000 and he was Poppy's ambassador...but is now supporting Kerry... So how far back can they go with partisianship??

Ritter was also on the show, saying the world is worse off now that Saddam is gone because of how the U.S. has divided the world and the anchors just gasped...pretty funny...

3. Very few will buy that spin. People KNOW that this is TREASON
and that Plame was outed for political reasons.

There was an aol poll yesterday which asked about whether people were watching the primaries.

Roughly 10 % said yes.

30% said they were mildly interested kinda

and 60% said it was a big yawn and they were not interested

so for those who pay attention it will matter

for about 60% or a few more it will fly right over their ignorant heads

for the roughly 40% who pay attention they will oppose Bush

4. So what--does that mean Wilson deserved it?
Pretty desperate to me, look the cat's already out of the bag:
2 people in the WH outed a CIA operative, a criminal offense.
They can try to say, "it's all politics", but in the end there is a criminal investigation of this White House going on at this moment, politics or not. Too bad, I thought Brown and King were better than this.

6. he sounds to me like a professional, a patriot and a good husband.
he *is* terribly amusing in interviews and cute but that is the
superficial side of me. :) I would love to have a husband as brave
and decent as this one. Plame, props to both of you.

7. There is a slight danger of that
But, with these guys using 9/11 and 'national security' as their catch-all answer for everything bad they've done, I don't see how they can turn around and play this thing down when it's all about national security.

I do worry, though, that the Dems might seem a little too eager. Given time, this thing will build, possibly with bipartisan anger.

8. That's total garbage
There's no "story" - Wilson's wife was outed. His political affiliation is irrelevant! Sounds to me like the WH is expecting Ashcroft to whitewash this for them.

Says Novak was innocent dupe and therefore is free to reveal source. That the guy who passed on info committed a crime.

14. What does it matter what the populace thinks of this
at this point, anyway?

This isn't about image or popularity, this is about the rule of law, and enforcement of laws and punishment of the lawbreakers. This is about National Security at a "TIME OF WAR."

The fact that the sleepy public, tired, I'm sure, of waving their flags for this awol liar, will finally have 2+2 shoved in their face, is just icing.
