I Was in a Taxi in L.A. on Friday and the Driver Was Bitching about Gas
prices. He started ranting about Middle Eastern and Asian gas station owners gouging the customers.

Then, I told him that the prices that he's paying for gas have nothing to do with the gas station owners. Gas prices are set by the oil companies, and if the station owners don't follow the pricing, the oil companies will take away the gas.

3. He Said, "Oh I didn't know that."
I told him that there was a gas station owner in Queens that went against the pricing policy, and the oil company shut him down. I also told him that gas station owners don't make a dime on the gas. They make their money on the cigarettes, lottery tickets, and other items that they sell inside.

9. In Colorado, I don't think they make all that much.
I could be wrong but I think it's just pennnies a gallon. I'll ask the next time I fill up. And that will be about $50.

8. Ah, our economy is in the tank because of
that iraqi gas station owner in Covina? Bastard. I like taking the taxi in SF . Seems like to be a taxi driver in SF you have to have a Phd in philosophy from Berkley.
