United Way is asking folks in Massachusetts to replace Government monies no longer available with contributions to United Way so that UW can send the money on to fight homelessness in Massachusetts, where the average age of a homeless person is 8 years old.
It must be those labor laws that prevent 6 years olds from working so the family can afford shelter.
Funny how this has not been on broadcast or print media.
predicts over a million children will be homeless next year.
I truly do not understand why people are not outraged by homeless children. Why isn't this being shouted from the rooftops? Instead of fighting for the rights of lumps of tissue - why aren't the Talibornagains screaming about this?
4. I agree - it should be on the nightly news - every week.
But that might cut into Bush's poll ratings - and our media only reports reports that do not decrease Bush poll ratings.
Something about not "making news" - and the increasing homeless is "old news" and therefor not allowed on the "news" - even if new homeless numbers come out each month plus new studies.
