If it's 150k who voted for Kerry this is another feel good protest. Did any vote for *? Somehow I think that this is the choir rehearsing not recruiting.
Where we are now the point is to break through the propaganda. At my little vigil there were less than 100 people. But we were on Main Street on a summer night and perhaps 1000 cars drove by. 1000+ people had their reality narrative disturbed. 1000+ people were confronted with an unscripted event. This has nothing much to do with elections, it has to do with deconstructing their catapulted propaganda.
However, it brings awareness. We were on a mainstreet and Im sure some people were wondering what was going on. Maybe peaks curiosity of apathetic people.
on a monthly basis. It evokes more positive responses than negative. I think it is so important that peacemongers stand before their community. It gives people the courage to speak out and it gives them hope.
OK I don't think I'll interpret that the wrong way. Of course it is a conservative estimate. The number *could* be far higher, it might be lower. Perhaps the various organizers ought to poll their local people and get a better number and get that out to us.
16. Very conservative estimate. Does MoveOn add up the numbers?
I wonder if the people hosting the vigils are asked to contact MoveOn afterward and give them an estimate on how many people showed up. Does anyone know?
