Government spends over 85k a month to feed, give gifts to the media

I just got off the phone with my brother in columbus. He said one of his friends is going to cater the white house press corps breakfast and lunch in the morning tomorrow part of some internship he has. and he said the government spends well over $55,000 a month on fine foods, snacks, wine, and services for the media. An addition to that, the white house also give $35,000 each month on gifts, electronics and equipment for the media to use in such press conferences.

I dont know about you, but that extremely pisses me off. That money could be better spent on feeding and providing shelter for all the homeless/poor in DC!

But who he is catering to is some type of press conference or something at the white house tomorrow morning. by what my brother said, this is a daily thing that goes on at the white house. many of the reporters report at the WH and while they're there, the WH provides meals, services, and gifts to the media. and he is taking part of preparing and serving the meals to the media.
