What's so great about the Cayman Islands?
I've noticed a lot of RW'ers have set up shop there.

George W. Bush once had a business connected to his other businesses on the Cayman Islands.

Halliburton has a subsidiary on the Cayman Islands.

Oliver North once had a business on the Cayman Islands.

Pat Robertson's Freedom Gold Ltd. was based in the Cayman Islands.

It must be a nice place, right?

5. Great tax laws for corporations...
Also, for the record, a pretty sweet place. Awesome beaches, AMAZING snorkeling... pity the government's a bunch of corporate whores. They could probably do just as well relying on tourism.

7. It's a nice place. Great diving. It's also a tax haven.
Cayman has a bank that serves as the reserve bank for the caribbean. It also has laws allowing "secret" bank accounts, similar to Switzerland.

8. I applied for a job with a magazine in the Caymans.
I was interviewed in Miami by the publisher. I was quite a bit younger then. But the publisher told me I probably wouldn't like it because there was no night life. I guess he got the impression that I was a party girl.
