The Sisterhood, Taking On the Old Boy Network

For Black Women, Sororities Are More About Politics Than Parties

Found this story by Roxanne Roberts, fresh on the heels of covering the Future Pac summit. Very busy weekend on the Hill, with the CBC conference and all.

Robert's piece is a detailed overview Black sororities and their political functions. My own view of the Greek system is more akin to the sarcasm of Spike Lee's "School Daze," but Roberts gets beyond some of the stereotypes and provides a good lesson in what these sisterhoods are really about. Time to rethink some prejudices? Check it out.
