F**CK the issues. Elections should be held like a beauty pageant.
Edited on Mon Sep-29-03 12:23 AM by Liberal_Guerilla
Nobody cares about the damn issues or "Fuzzy" math. So let's just do away with this masquerade of "issues". After all, Elections are now just a popularity contest. It's only a matter of time before we have these monkeys compete in a swimsuit competition. People can then vote for something they know. Like the size of bulges wherever they may be.

Screw the issues. i want my representatives to have large breasts and a big cock, and of course a tight ass too boot. Preferably a movie star or a wanna be cowboy.

You could have the smartest man on earth up there telling us what needs to be done to better our quality of life, but that would be to boring. And who the hell wants to listen to all them fuzzy figures. Nooo, We want someone to feed us stupid one line baseball slogans. We want someone to act out our infantile fantasies of what being king of the universe is all about.

Damn the issues!! I want flesh and lots of it. Yeah, Blah, Blah, blah... World peace and all, yawn... Wake me when the flesh comes out.

Ladies and gentleman, we are now enjoying the fruits of a gutted school system and the dumbing down of America. Enjoy, it only gets worst from here.

People don't vote unless it's something they can understand, like tits and ass. After all, Ahnold is winning a popularity contest.

27. Now now...
I didn't mean it that way at all. I just meant that he was devilishly good looking. However, he does have good things to add, so why isn't he making more of an impact?

10. The election of 1840 was pretty fucked up, too
William Henry Harrison (and Tyler, too!) versus Martin van Buren. This is the campaign that featured "Keep the ball rolling" gimmicks (Harrison supporters rolling giant balls from town to town) and log cabin-shaped jugs of hard cider being served at Harrison rallies (for the "log cabin and hard cider" candidate). Harrison was a former general who was low on substance and high on style. Van Buren was protrayed as an elitist.

Guess who won that crazy election?

25. People just hope for the best.
People WANT someone who has it all. Trouble is, if they have good looks/style/whatever, they're willing to assume he has the rest.

It's not the gutted school system. It's the instant gratification and the television era.

Maybe the Harrison election of 1840 was similar, but people were still willing to sit for hours on end to listen to the Lincoln/Douglas debates. Try that now, the candidate is an insta-loser.
