A Bit Of Silver Lineing
While I hate the thought of our troops haveing to spend a single day in Iraq it still occurs to me that there may be at least one thing to be said for the extensions in their tours of duty. There will be a good number of young and early middle aged men returning to their day to day middle class lives just a very few months before the next election. They will be back with their peers who did not serve and they will be talking about their experiences to folks who will be listening, and listening carefully, at least at first. How do you think they are going to be portraying their fearless leader, the fellow who they know full well lied to the public to gain its blessing to send them for a short war that has got a lot longer for them. I do not think this will be a crowd that fully supports the President in his reelection bid. This pleases me.
