All the petition signing I've done really seems meaningless in light
of how our (majority) opinions and desires are completely pissed on anyway.

It's time for something more constructive!

2. I feel that way sometimes...but then think about Rove's Right Wing Machine
that's fully funded by the "Powers of Corporatists and who knows else what "evil lurks" and I still keep signing them. I try to right my OWN PERSONAL comments on petitions, though. Just so they can't come back and say.."They are all the same...these Dem Petitions."

They wouldn't say that about Repug Petitions...but then the Repugs have moved WAY PAST having to Petition. THEY OWN IT ALL!!

Keep signing...keep agitating...unless you want to go into the streets...it's the only way to keep stuff out there. (This is advice from a 60's person...who wasn't a drugged out anarchist) :D

8. There's not enough thanks anywhere, today.
We've forgotten what "thanks" means. Our society is very cruel, self centered and insular. At least that's what's portrayed in the Media and many react to that thinking that "society" doesn't need a glue of politeness to hold together when Rove/Coulter and Faux and the rest can get away with what they do.

I don't know what the answer is. Treating each other with some respect of their "dignity" is what I thought "Civilization" was all about.

I just have to figure we'ver going through a really bad time...and that at some point courtesy and a dignity about how we relate to each other when we aren't online will eventually resurface.

If, not...then I gotta go with "TRASH THE BUSH BASTARDS."

20. Keep pushing, we are getting through
Look Bush is at 41% approval, the CAFTA bill passed with only a 2 vote
margin and one of those votes was supposed to be no vote and this was only after major arm twisting and keeping the vote open by the MAJORITY
party, their power is weakening. Keep up the pressure, for anyone running in 06, they are afraid for their careers, send a donation to
Paul Hackett in Ohio, I did. The Republicans are so scared they shipped
mucho bucks at the last minute to defeat him.

9. Nothing illegal about a General Strike.
Nothing so effective either.

10-15% of Progressives could put a hand on THE WALLET.
16-25% of Progressives could gently lift THE WALLET.
26-50% of Progressives could pull THE WALLET free of it's encumbrance.
51-75% of Progressives could lay claim to THE WALLET.
76-100% of Progressives could say "What WALLET?"

13. No question about it-
Edited on Thu Jul-28-05 07:12 PM by BeHereNow
MLK shut down an entire city through boycott.
Question is, are Americans willing to be "uncomfortable"
long enough to effect a dent in the confidence of
corporate America?
Corporate America controls our representatives-
Every should know that by now.
Corporate America has everyone conditioned
to rely on them, for gas, food, electricity- you name it.
What you are talking about would require massive
community organization and united effort to
withdraw ALL financial support of Corporate America.
A prolonged period of a united effort not to spend
a dime on anything corporate-
Cable, telecommunications, food, gas-
all of it. A complete economic withdrawal from the "system."
How many people do you know who would be willing
to alter their lives so dratistically?
Personally, I don't know many at all.

1. general strike (refusal to work)
2. massive demonstration/protest (e.g. 100 million people)

10. I agree
and it's all in the voting. We can cry injustice as loud and long as we may it's not going to change anything till we change the system ourselves. when we give up or let fear stifle us we loose. we don't have to approach this with anger for the wrongs that have taken place we just have to change it ourselves, or surrender. it IS going to one way or the other.

19. The American people were given the Congressional finger yesterday
... courtesy of Bush/Cheney's strong-arm Mafia-like tactics. This wasn't an attack against Democrats, not an attack against Republicans, but an attack against all Americans... and an attack against human rights.

Yeah, Georgie, you've got lots of muscle right now, and you're flexing it, but, you know what? Eventually a bully is always seen for what he is, and those who've been duped walk away from him. Georgie, the eyes of America are opening, and many of your formerly conned followers are beginning to see your true ugliness.

You can open up concentration camps right now, throw us all in them, but you still won't win... you will never conquer our spirits.

FUCK YOU GEORGE W BUSH. I SPIT ON YOU.
