1. Forget Talking Points

Use facts.

From what I have learned Talking points starts with a conclusion. YOu Cherry Pick your facts to support your conclusion.

Edit Here

According to International Law it is illegal to invade another country based on Regime change. This is called a War of Aggression which in itself is a War Crime.

The debunking of the WMD threat BEFORE the invasion took place shows that Shrubs intent was not to make the world safer but to shape the Middle East for nation interests, not safety. Of course the first arguments were for WMD.

Bush changed his tone when WMD was not found. He had said “We are there to bring freedom and democracy to the people of Iraq”. This IS Regime change therefore illegal.

2. The question should be, "Is it ethical?"

6. She has two beautiful 40ish-year-old daughters, but is brainwashed, not
brain-dead: it is belief that can't be shaken. To her Republicans are the party of Lincoln, TR, and Ike, a cousin. When I pointed out the fourteen or so reasons John Eisenhower was not voting for W in 2004, those reasons mattered not a whit. Sadly she is joined by tens of millions who must have similar mindsets.

4. Legal? Go take a look at the UN Charter we signed. Also in our
Constitution it says that the US must honor treaties we sign...therefore, we violated the UN Charter and are just as 'criminal' of invading a sovereign country as Saddam was in 1991, invading Kuwait.

5. Thanks to all: none of these arguments work on her nor any of the 49% who
like the job W is doing: they truly have been brainwashed, are brain-dead, or blinded by the right or some combination thereof.

7. Then ask her why Saddam is guilty of 'war crimes'? Did Hitler's
invasion of Poland consitute a legal action?

P.S. How does one live with someone that is so opposite in beliefs?

9. Been there, done that: a republican president must get everything he wants
and be allowed to do anything he wants is the prevailing, but mindless, mindset of tens of millions of brainwashed supporters IMHO and the brain-dead can't be bothered.

I just can't account for this kind of thing. I really can't. Here's something from a very quick google search:

http://www.globalpolicy.org/security/issues/iraq/attack/lawindex.htm

I mean, really. The "domestic analogy" is often used to help illustrate points in discussions of political philosophy, international relations, law, etc....thinking the Iraq debacle is legal, in such an analogy, is akin to thinking it's legal for you or me to bust down our neighbor's door, set fire to his kitchen, kill his kid, rape his wife, and then move into his spare bedroom. Ya know?

On edit: just to further develop the analogy, I guess we can have said neighbor be a child-abusing asshole or something. Still doesn't make it legal to invade and occupy.
