1. Yeah.........
the final nail in the coffin of the American worker. It's being hailed as a "great victory" for the Rain Man. I'm SOOOO happy the Rain Man got his "great victory", while the American people get the shitty end of the stick from this administration. Again.
I haven't checked to see which Dems voted for it yet, probably the usual DLC lackeys.

7. 15 Democrats did
and for every one of those Democrats who did vote yes, if they switched to voting no, then Karl Rove and Tom DeLay simply would have called in a favor from one of the 27 Republicans who voted no. They had the votes all along.

5. all I know is that when Lyndon Johnson ran the Senate . . .
and Sam Rayburn ran the House, you didn't have Democratic defections on important bills that the party wanted voted a certain way . . . it just didn't happen . . .

maybe what we need is some effective leadership in both Houses of Congress . . .

10. Laughable....look at the roll calls for the Civil Rights Acts
..of 1957 (which was watered down horribly to get the Democratic vote it did), 1960, and 1964 (when LBJ was President). Unity? Hardly!

17. I'm talking about when Johnson was Senate leader . . .
it was a bit different when he was president . . . but when he ran the Senate, it was with an iron fist . . .

18. That's why I listed the '57 and '60 Civil Rights Bills as well.
The myth of Democratic Party unity runs rampant through the halls of DU. It just wasn't so. In many areas, the party was never so divided.

12. Another bill the American people were against.........
passed by Congress. So much for "of the people, by the people, and for the people". Those congressional fat cats know FAR BETTER what's good for us than we ourselves.
I urge every voter who's Representative voted for this abomination contact them and let them know how they've failed their constituents.

14. I doubt the American people know anything about this bill....
...and its their fault. If you can't take the time to learn about something and voice an opinion, then you get the system you deserve. I don't like it one bit, but I'm going to put blame where I think its due.
