It seems that Democrats have been fighting for compromises instead of what they believe in over the last few years. This causes a serious problem.

Man: Give me the cake.
Woman: Can I have half the cake?
Man: Tell you what, lets compromise and I'll settle for in-between the two.
Woman: Ok, we'll compromise.

End of story: Man: 3/4 the cake, Woman: 1/4 the cake.

That is why we must fight for what we believe in. If we keep giving in before we start the fight, then we loose way more than we bargained for.

One other problem I see is that many Democrats think that we are battling issues with the Far Right. However, I have argued before that the Far Right is not about issues, rather it is about control over people who are willing to be manipulated to achieve their own political goals.

3. These would be the "centrist" Democrats that you speak of..........
"centrist", being the DLC backed nominees for office. They're no better than the GOP since they're owned by the same corporations and have basically the same agenda.

"Grass roots" Democrats, on the other hand, DO GIVE A SHIT, and wouldn't sell out to the corporate overlords.

With the DLC Democrats you get 1/4 of the cake. With Grass Roots Democrats you don't get a promise of ANY cake, but you do get a promise to fight for our fair share.

The Democratic party in my view should have somewhat idealistic views and then let other people vary from there. Rather than taking the idealistic views, compromising with the right, then reassigning those views as the Democratic party's views. It's no way to run a business let alone a political party.

Do you try to sell a house at 300,000, then lower the price to 200,000 when no one buys it? No. First you should find out why people aren't buying it before you lower the price. It could be because of something totally unrelated to the price, but related to some external or minor internal factor that makes the house totally unbuyable.

They can look at why people aren't buying the party, but it isn't because of the issues.

Recently we have seen many stories about people trying to sell houses and they just keep lowering the price and no one buys them. Finally they have to take in off the listing and give it a new starting price to make it not look as bad. The problem is that the Democratic party cannot do that.

Again, my point is that the problems the Democratic party are having do not stem from policy issues. As we all know when questioned on issue by issue basis the Democrats almost always win, rather it is an issue of perception and possibly other external factors.
