Would you look at this buffoon...
Edited on Tue Jul-26-05 02:44 PM by Crankie Avalon
He's looking at the Gilbert Stuart exhibition.

I saw this show at the Metropolitan when it came through New York a couple of months ago. If not quite as great a portraitist as Ingres, Stuart was still the painter who performed in Revolutionary and early Republican America the function that Ingres did in Revolutionary and Napoleonic France--portrait painter to the ruling class, to the people who made things happen during turbulent periods of history. So, you would think the Gilbert Stuart exhibition would be pretty interesting to any American.

You think Chimpy looks interested? Look at him--he can't even keep his hands out of his pockets.

3. You Know, I Hate To Back Bush
But everything doesn't have to apeal to everyone. If he's disinterested in the portraits so be it. I doubt he has a lot of interest in creative knitting either, no matter how talented the artist. Many of us would look at the portraits and say, "well, isn't that nice", and head on down the row.

6. Well, I guess I'm being judgmental...
...but to me, a person incapable of appreciation for the arts (major ones like painting or music, rather than things like knitting) is someone devoid of a fully functioning human spirit.
