O'Reilly: "ACLU and the judges who side with them are terror allies"

Fox News host Bill O'Reilly condemned "the ACLU and the judges who side with them" as "terror allies." He was responding to the American Civil Liberties Union's (ACLU) Freedom of Information Act request that the Army release to the public additional pictures and videos that document abuses at the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq. On June 2, a federal judge ordered the government to prepare the photos and videos for release to the ACLU by June 30; on July 22, the government filed a sealed motion to prevent the release of many of those images. O'Reilly also claimed that the pictures "help the terrorists, as do Geneva Convention protections and civilian lawyers."

From the July 25 edition of Fox News' The O'Reilly Factor:

O'REILLY: The ACLU is also demanding that more pictures of the abuse at Abu Ghraib be released. The Defense Department is fighting that. Everybody knows those pictures incite violence against Americans. So why should more of them be fed to the press? We already know what happened at Abu Ghraib, and people are going to prison because of it. Clearly, more pictures of Abu Ghraib help the terrorists, as do Geneva Convention protections and civilian lawyers. So there is no question the ACLU and the judges who side with them are terror allies.

2. Yeah, Rush was saying the same thing,
Until he was busted and the ACLU came riding to his rescue. I've noticed that Oxy-boy has been really quiet on the topic of the ACLU for the last year or so.

14. I was just gonna say!
Yeah, and WTF is up with OxyRUSHitler's ONGOING INVESTIGATION!? Ain't it ODD how if you have an "R" after your name, you can do NO WRONG (but the librulz am be the terra-ists!) but, if this was Howard Stern, Randi Rhodes, Neil Rogers, etc., they'd be IN JAIL, even if they WERE NOT GUILTY OF ANYTHING.

And would someone point out to O'LIEly that if he wasn't guilty of any sexual harrassment, why did he pay that woman off?!?!?!?!?

5. Saaay, if we get rid of our "freedoms", they won't hate us anymore
Judges who get in the way of taking away freedoms are just helping the terrorists; remember they hate us for those pesky freedoms...

10. Why is o'reilly afraid to hold the U.S. to high moral standards?
(That's my new reponse to anyone who condones torture, it nicely suggests that the person in question is both a) immoral, and b) a coward)

HE is the one who is frankly un-American and a traitor to freedom. GOD! I wish it were that all the sheeple could see this too!

12. Right. The evidence of the crime incites the violence, not the crime.

:eyes:

Why do people listen to sophists like O'Reilly?

Where was the right wing outrage when the chimp who lives in a white mansion challenged the terrorists to bring it on?

15. right. "anyone standing up for civil liberties is a terror ally"
hmmmm.

So, "they hate us for our freedoms", but those who would protect our freedom are their allies?

OK, and hold on, the Geneva Convention is apparently also a tool of terror?

Jesus wept. Do these people actually listen to the words coming out of their own mouths?

16. but....since Iraq was not a true terror target, and the majority
of those detained are innocent of any crime, by the state departments own reckoning,
then how is obtaining evidence of detainee abuse remotely terror-related?

these guys should drown in their own bile. The only thing that prevents it is having a rectum on either end. One they talk out of.

20. Then O'Reilly is a child molester ally
Hey, if he can accuse the ACLU of being terror allies for wanting this truth to come out, I don't think there's any accusation too crude or outrageous to direct towards this piece of filth for supporting the suppression of the evidence of war crimes committed in our name.

According to Dildo Man "we already know what HAPPENED at Abu Ghraib"? HAPPENED, as in past tense? How do we know it isn't HAPPENING or WILL CONTINUE TO HAPPEN if we suppress this type of evidence? Suppressing this evidence is giving the BushTapo carte blanche to commit even more evil acts. What's to stop them now from harvesting organs from children? That's how far I have lost any and all faith in this administration.
