You and your friend ROCK! :headbang: I just spoke to Dad (in his late 70s, none/sporadic phone service for going on 3 weeks) and his phone has been fixed; I sincerely thank you both for all your efforts and wanted to do so publicly!
Everyone else who filled my head with great ideas to combat Verizon, many thanks as well. It felt great to know I could come to DU for help, and it worked! You're all great!

unhappycamper e-mailed me and expedited the repair w/the help of his friend, a Verizon employee. I, along with 3 siblings, got a repair report number from Verizon's website (not only does Dad not have a 'fuzer, but it wouldn't work w/o the phone line). He had sporadic outgoing access and no one could call in. Also, I called the local Verizon number in NY this a.m. and they were very polite and helpful, giving me the status of the repair.
Bottom line, once you get the repair number, send e-mails daily or more often. They did tend to respond to them. Good luck!

PS My next step was to call the utlities commission and Verizon CEO, which I suggested in an e-mail to them yesterday.
