Maybe some folks shouldn't get involved...
We stopped at a local Family Dollar store tonight to pick up a few items. There was a man with a small table set up just outside the door.
He was asking people to sign petitions to get two initiatives on the Ohio ballot this fall. He had two notebooks out with sigs on them.

One to get them to spend our money more carefully.

One for the people to be able to choose who represents us, not the politicians - you know making the districts.

That was the explanation. I asked if he had a copy of these initiatives that one could read. He lifted up a notebook and pulled out one copy of each and each about 3 pages typed.

No extra copies. Other than the above sentences, he could not summarize them. No internet address available to read them online. No mention by him or on them who was sponsoring these "initiatives". I said I couldn't sign without reading them fully and thinking about it. He looked confused - I wonder if no one else had wanted details.

If this is a legitimate effort, they need better representation.
