Question on campaign finance
Edited on Sat Sep-27-03 03:17 PM by quinnox
I was wondering what will happen to all the money candidates raise, if they drop out of the race? Some of them have raised millions of dollars, and don't have an elective office in the future, if they don't win the nomination. For example, Dean does not hold an elective office, and Edwards has said he will not run for re-election for his Senate seat.

What happens to this money if they drop out, do they get to keep it for possible future campaigns or do they have to give the money back or what?

I wouldn't think they can keep it for personal use?
