FL Church Day Care Kids Molested, Forced To Eat Worms, Smell Feet
State: Day Care Kids Forced To Eat Worms, Smell Feet
2:19 pm EDT July 22, 2005

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The state has suspended the licenses of two church-affiliated day care centers.

Former director Joshua Palin is charged with molesting ten children, some of them during what investigators say were twisted games of Truth or Dare.

At the centers, children were allegedly sexually assaulted and forced to eat worms, pick each other's noses and smell each other's feet during employee-led games of "Truth or Dare."

Former director Joshua Palin is charged with molesting ten children, some of them during what investigators say were twisted games of Truth or Dare. He is the son of the affiliated church's pastor.

And under state law, he'll be banned from voting for life.

5. Yep, sure do! The Jurors all said not guilty!
Some of the Jurors also said, "...something happened there, but not what the police and prosecutor were trying to convict them of".

What is your point Nevernose?

8. My point is that perhaps we shouldn't be ready to hang the guy
IIRC, the grandson in McMartin was found guilty on at least a few of the counts, but it took almost a decade for some of the women involved to be exonerated.

My point about the McMartins is that maybe we sholdn't rush to judgement: the two girls molested in the home are one thing, but the man and two women forcing children to eat worms and smell feet sound a lot like things children make up when pressured than likely events. Its easy to do, especially when you have well-meaning people trying to help suggestable children. Stories like this also don't fit the modus operandi of child molesters.

Of course, the guy is probably guilty as hell of something, but maybe we should wait for more information to come out before we go out and lynch him.

7. What Nevernose, will you raise "false memories" as an excuse.
This is an entirely different case. No need to go back and debate McMartin. Just remember, your extensive knowledge of that case was probably from the idiotic movie on that subject. Gee, how lovely.

9. My, such anitpathy
Let's not talk about McMartin, shall we? Shall we instead discuss the dozens of daycare centers around the country where stories like this popped up in the mid-80s (largely due to McMartin)? The ones involving the Satanic conspiracies, international child sex rings, the ones that were a staple of daytime talk shows and tabloid magazines?

Did the man in FLorida molest the two original girls in his own home? Hell, I certainly don't know and none of has any of the facts, but it seems likely.

Did three adults at a Christian daycare center force children to eat worms, expose themselves, and have group molestations? That part's getting harder to believe.

6. What a bizarre story!
If you want to protect your children from abuses in early childhood, talk WITH THEM a lot. Listen to them carefully.

One of my youngest daughter's kindergarten teachers was doing some bizarre things, not as bizarre as these reports, but things I felt were not good for my child. I knew every detail because my children came home every day and recited every memorable and mundane event. Other mothers, who were not as attentive to their children, got their information about what was going on from my children and me. Take the time to listen to your children. They will tell you what is going on.

By the way, we switched my daughter's kindergarten, and that solved our problem.

This story is too strange to believe, but then again . . . .

11. *Seeing red* I really REALLY want to hurt that guy. People who hurt kids
make me forget that I believe in nonviolence.
