Eric Rudolph: No Remorse (Terrorist)
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Eric Rudolph was sentenced to life in prison Monday for his role in a deadly women's clinic bombing after he angrily denounced abortion and one of his victims called him a "monster."

His diatribe — and the emotional statements of his victims — came as he was sentenced under the plea deal that spared his life. He received two life terms without parole for the 1998 bombing that killed an off-duty police officer. Next month, he is to receive two more life terms for the 1996 Olympic bombing and other attacks in Atlanta.

And Felicia Sanderson, whose husband died in the explosion, said, "I want to tell you there is no punishment in my opinion great enough for Eric Rudolph. When Eric Rudolph leaves this earth and has to face final judgment, I'm going to leave the final judgment in God's hand."

Seated at the defense table, Rudolph nodded in agreement. Then, when it was his turn to speak, Rudolph angrily lashed out at abortion and the women's clinic that performs them.

Eric Rudolph said "deadly force" is needed to stop abortions.

1. The thing that gets me about these COWARDS is how they HIDE.
They like to compare themselves to the civil rights efforts in the 60's.

But everyone shuold note MLK and Rosa Parks didn't go into hiding after taking a stand.

8. Very good point.
Have you noticed that the ones who get caught walk around with some type of cult like smile? I cannot remember the name of the woman, (she had brown hair - that should help identify her  ) and Paul Hill. They are all just creepy. It's as if they really want to be serial killers and use abortion clinics and workers as their justification.

6. But where did he hide exactly?
I know he spent much of the time in western NC, but I've also heard personal stories about him making his way as far north as the WV section of the Appalachians.

7. Just to be safe
We should probably nuke the whole region from West Virginia all the way down to the Barrier Islands, doncha think? I mean, we just had a poll saying that 51% of our population thinks that Great Britain ought to go to war (against whom or where is left unsaid) because of the London bombings. Seems to be a tactic that a majority of our citizens understands.

Oh, blanket reprisals are against the highest law of the United States? Well, this isn't really a Geneva Convention kind of situation, so we'll just pretend that it doesn't apply here.

Have I said recently how much I loathe this administration and its lackeys and offshoots?

Though since Rudolph is a white Christian, Boston is probably safe for the moment.

11. Interesting -- no death sentence -- not that I pro death penalty
Former AG Asscrotch was trying to force states to impose the death penalty -- and this creep was caught on his watch.

Did anyone ever hear Asscrotch advocate that this gutless wonder creep be given a death sentence (Rudolph shows no remorse for his crimes).

Plus this guy is a terrorist -- he is just as evil as any "foreign" religious terrorist -- and the thing is that since he is white he and others like him can "blend" into the American population. So while people are looking out for strange sounding, "different from us" looking terrorists -- here is a real home grown terrorist.

This reeks of double standards -- Rudolph is one of theirs.

16. It was part of his plea agreement
Rudolph confessed to the Olympic Park terrorist bombing and murder in exchange for saving his own life, a mercy that he curiously couldn't bring himself to extend to his victims. But that's the way our law system works, even for pathetic cowards.

He's apparently quite pleased with himself that he avoided the death penalty with his plea, and will not be considered for parole ever. His only hope for freedom ever again is a pardon, but I can't imagine the chief executive so reckless and so corrupt that Rudolph would be pardoned.

23. I realize the reason -- but Asscrotch
could have tossed the plea agreement -- and demanded a trial --

if Eric had been a dark skinned "foreign" terrorists -- Asscrotch would have re-written the laws to get the guy executed.

12. Glad he did not get the Death Penalty
Edited on Mon Jul-18-05 03:17 PM by Tommymac
two wrongs don't make a right.

His punishment is appropriate IMHO. He will have all the remaining years of his sorry life to reflect on what he did.

His fanaticism and lack of empathy for anyone (other than fertilized eggs) make him a fanatic and a threat to public safety.
