"Cooper! I thought you'd be in jail by now."
Why would George W Bush say such a thing ??
===========================================

http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1083870,00.html

<snip>
It was my first interview with the President, and I expected a simple "Hello" when I walked into the Oval Office last December. Instead, George W. Bush joked, "Cooper! I thought you'd be in jail by now." The leader of the free world, it seems, had been following my fight against a federal subpoena seeking my testimony in the case of the leaking of the name of a CIA officer. I thought it was funny and good-natured of the President, but the line reminded me that I was, very weirdly, in the Oval Office, out on bond from a prison sentence, awaiting appeal--in large part, for protecting the confidence of someone in the West Wing. "What can I say, Mr. President," I replied, smiling. "The wheels of justice grind slowly."

1. he's consistent in his idiocy
I can just hear that moronic little 'heh heh heh' after he says something he thinks is funny, but is utterly stupid.

3. He thinks he's untouchable. And he's pretty insensitive, too.
It's not like HE'S going to jail, after all.

12. bush is a classic sociopath...he has no conscience. I think he is
devoid of all emotions, save hate, and lately, despondency.

7. Yep, the shithead
doesn't care about anyone or anything other then himself.

Everyday he gets more full of himself if that is even possible.

Bush was born on third base.
But he struts around like he hit a triple.

10. I like the way Cooper put this
it reminds me of a lot of other accounts of being bemused by Bush, like when Charlotte Church called him a "right weirdo."

14. I had to laugh
when I read that Bush said that to Cooper. I'm sorry, but it is pretty funny in a "dumb and dumber" kind of way.

I know, innocent people have died and are still dying because of this man, and it's no laughing matter. But what a classic, no wonder morons love him!

16. excuse me?
We are supposed to believe that NO CRIME WAS COMMITTED. SO, why would anyone go to jail?

One would expect Rove to be in the unemployment line simply because he dropped balls all over the place on this one.
He started the spin way too late this time.

"No crime committed".- yeah, that's why Fitz has been working on this for nearly two years...just for practice, I suppose.

"Joe Wilson has zero credibility."- yeah, that's why Poppyseed said that Joe was "a true American hero."

"Valerie Plame was not a covert agent."- yeah? So let her get back to her job- working against weapons proliferation.

Anybody care to add a few more karl- come -lately lies?

How about (implied)- 'Joe Wilson is a no good lazy slacker. His wife had to get him a job.'

"Wilson's report from Niger was sloppy" Yeah, that's why he was 100% correct about the fake yellow-cake story.
