Ken Mehlman seems to be putting his faith in Patrick Fitzgerald.. uh oh
Is anyone else worried about this???? I'd love to be absouloutely convinced that this guy is on the up and up. I guess the fact that he has taken it this far should convince me. On the other hand, are we be set up for a huge fall? Enough to shut us up for the rest of the term? and next etc.????

2. When I heard him say that, my first thought was
that Ken will eat those words in a few months.

Don't get fooled by the Confidence Game.

15. Yep. Talk is cheap- especially when
the big media outlets never hold you to your previous statements.

4. What choice do we have?
Based on his record, I think Mehlman is blowing smoke...What else can HE say, after all? Methinks there was a lot of REPUG praying on the morning talk shows.

13. Today they went from spinning to twisting
in the wind. It's sort of fun to watch, kinda like Chip Dillard screaming "All is well" while the Deltas stormed the streets of Faber. The funniest thing is that one of the talking points is "Karl Rove is an honorable public servant" and they all have to say it without laughing!

the possibility of an indictment could distinctly be detected in Mehlman's words.

6. But also never said I'll support any decision he makes
Tapdanced all around that one at least twice that I saw. "I reserve the right to smear him if I don't agree with his decision" was my take on it.

the freepers are doubling teaming us now.

There seems to be a lot of these sorts of thread lately and the first response or second response confirm the originial GOP talking point. They must be getting really worried.

8. Mehlman wouldn't say he wouldn't bash Fitzgerald
if Fitzgerald's behavior disagreed with him on Russ this morning. I don't think they know what Fitzgerald is going to do and are preparing for all outcomes.

9. Yeah, but Ken wouldn't make any promises to Russert on MTP
this morning about "accepting" Fitz's decision to indict, if he does. Sounds like he'll continue to spread lies and john Podesta can smack him down some more.

17. Melman did NOT say he would support
any indictments Fitzgerald came down with, when Russert pressed him this morning.

WAY too busy talking WAY too fast about how everythings' the democrats' fault. He was laughable with that crap at this point.

In fact, these repub talkers are sounding extremely defensive, you know I think they're downright nervous.

a public identification of them being total liars! They think their sheeple will swallow this KoolAid nonstop, but at some point they start seeing them as pushing lies.

10. Nah, not to worry. Fitz is one of the good guys.
Google his name and you'll see. He brought down Gov. Ryan, some of the Mafia, and the guy(s) that were responsible for the first Trade Center bombings.

This one I don'pt hink can be bought.

Don't worry. He's going to be famous for this some day. In ten years, you'll be going to see a movie about him for $35. Popcorn will be $29 for a large.

24. He did not look good, 'Bullet point Kenny'
He was spewing out of the side of his mouth, Cheney-like, the crap about the dems, sounding feeble - he could not get up the 'outrage' needed for the words he was using, - very half-hearted, - he was getting all the words in, but without any emotion.

Methinks they are in deep doo-doo

21. Here' s what bugs me about Fitzgerald
How did the repukes ever "accidentally" get an honest thorough investigator? I mean they love influence peddling and punishing those who don't go along with their lies. How did they get Fitzgerald?

26. I read a thread on dKos that explains this. Basically:
The guy who was supposed to do it retired, and Fitz was recommended. They just gave it to him without checking him out.

I'll go look for a link to that diary...

Aaaaaaaaaah! I'm shaking with worry!

Could this be a set-up? A set-up? A SET-UP?!? Aaaaaaaaaah! I'm so scared it might be a set-up! Aaaaaaaaaaah. Thanks for suggesting it might be a set-up. What we need now is extreme caution and self-doubt! NEVER, EVER ATTACK, because it always MIGHT be a set-up! AAAAAAAAAAH.

:eyes:

Feh. You'll get plenty of scared DUers to agree with your bullshit, which must be of great entertainment value to you, but also know that plenty see right through it. Worried? Fucking hardly.

He will do the right thing here. I do not think Fitz would take two years investigating if something was not going down (hopefully Bush Inc.). Have faith here.

30. We had already been "shut up" by the media.
Now, do you really think Karl Rove wanted this?

Let's not give Rove too much credit. He's got a reputation for being a "genius" and that is just preposterous. He's willing to be the most ruthless man in the room at any give time and that intimidates people. He's willing to do anything to ruin people in the most egregious ways. Evil, yes. Ruthless, yes. Genius? I think not.

A real genius would be smart enough to know that deep down people don't like bad guys and love to bring them down. Now that the facade has started to crumble, well, to quote Pink Floyd, TEAR DOWN THE WALL!!!!!

Don't sit around cowering at this pathetic little man. I remember when people said that H. R. Haldeman ran the tightest ship in the history of the White House and there would be no way he or Nixon would be exposed in the Watergate scandal. Well, what do they say about Haldeman now?

so much as trying to put a damper on any conversation about the topic. Keep it under wraps and don't talk about it and they will figure out a way to bury it without political damage..
