What do you want to know that you don't know about Traitorgate?
What is Bush's role?

Who ordered the Wilson trip to Africa?

Who is the "senior White House offical" in this story who says
that revenge was at the heart of the leak. And was that admission
disingenuous, hiding the deeper purpose of stopping Plame's work?

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/chronicle/archive/2005/07/17/MNGILDPBDU1.DTL

"But in late September, a senior White House official was quoted as telling the Post at least six reporters had been told of Plame before Novak's column, 'purely and simply out of revenge.'"

1. Who told these reporters about his wife?
Edited on Sun Jul-17-05 12:26 PM by tjdee
(Assuming Rove just said "I heard that too.")
This whole Rove defense that her name was told to him by a reporter is hilarious.

Reporters have security clearance now? Wouldn't Rove *ask* how a reporter knew the identity of a CIA agent?

Riiiigggght.

I don't think Bush has anything to do with the actual leak, because he's stupid. Would be pleased to discover otherwise, though. I do think he's covering up though.

3. I'm looking for a quote ...
I believe that Cooper said he testified that at the end of the
conversation with Rove, Rove said, approximately, "I've said too
much already." Why would Rove say that if he was only repeating
what he had already heard from a reporter or reporters?

5. I just read that in the post about "Cooper time, very interesting"
Edited on Sun Jul-17-05 12:33 PM by tjdee
I'm paraphrasing, LOL.
Here's the link:

But yeah-- what the hell is this "I've already said too much"?

It's looking a lot more suspicious.

I'm starting to wonder who sent Wilson too.... :tinfoilhat:
I was kind of not going with the whole Plame/company/oil/Saudi angle, but I'm starting to. Especially since no one "remembers" who sent him there.

6. I want to know a whole lot more than I could possibly list here.
I want:

To see a copy of the AF1 phone records.

Who are the other 4 reporters that were contacted.

Cooper said there were more than 2 WH official sources. Who were they?

The memo that POwel took with him on the trip to Africa with ShrubCo.

The names in the Bolton doc. that the WH won't release.

That's enough for starters.

12. I posted this yesterday on DU.
The fact that State's Intelligence and Research Bureau (INR) and Grossman were involved in the discussions about Niger and uranium are important in light of the revelations that UN ambassador nominee John Bolton, who was then Undersecretary of State for Arms Control and International Security. Grossman, Armitage, Powell, and Ford were all reportedly subjects of Bolton's request for National Security Agency (NSA) intercepts of communications. Bolton, who had declared war on INR, was working closely with Vice President Cheney's staff, including Chief of Staff Scooter Libby; Karl Rove; UN ambassador John Negroponte; the National Security Council; and the Pentagon neocon cell to hype and fix intelligence to justify the invasion of Iraq. The Associated Press is also reporting today that on July 11, 2003, Rove sent an email to Deputy National Security Adviser Stephen Hadley discussing Rove's previous phone call to Time's Matt Cooper about Wilson and his wife. Rove, Hadley Libby, then-National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice, and Press Secretary Ari Fleischer were all members of the White House Iraq Group, set up to craft propaganda justifying the war.

I told EVERYBODY that Bolton was involved in this mess! That's why the WH won't release those intercepts to Biden and Dodd!!!!!

We know three, there were allegedly six.

Novak
Andrea Mitchell?
Chris "Tweety" Matthews?
??

Who's the sixth?
And did I get any of these wrong?

8. How many people have been destroyed by this betrayal....
The leak is a betrayal. The assets harvested by Brewster-Jennings can't be sanguine about this.

How many people might have been killed or silenced by this betrayal?

16. Plume - agent or analyst? Like it makes a difference
That is what some Cons on another board are rationalizing Plume's outing. They say she was merely an analyst and no big deal.

Got anything for me to smack them upside their tiny little minds?

21.  PLAME, not plume
Edited on Sun Jul-17-05 01:44 PM by BeFree
Brewster-Jennings is the front company that was outed since Plame 'worked' there.

The consequence of the outing was that a CIA organization with who knows how many contacts and operatives was exposed. It wasn't just Plame.

It now seems that the WMD investigation the CIA was working on has been rendered useless and the time and money spent was wasted, leaving the US even more exposed to criminals moving WMD on the black market.

That oughtta get your Cons attention, eh?
