Sorry if this is "old news' but I was just listening to air america and Jeaneane talked about Iraqi's being detained in a van and suffocating so I googled searched it - un-fucking believable

Nine Iraqi bricklayers detained by security forces on suspicion of involvement with armed fighters have suffocated to death while held for more than 14 hours in a police van.

Three other suspects, who survived the ordeal of being locked up in a van in the sun, were taken to hospital on Monday morning where they were to be interviewed by officials who are investigating the case, an Interior Ministry official said.

The incident began on Sunday in the Amariyah district of western Baghdad when one of 12 bricklayers sustained gunshots during a firefight between armed fighters and police.

5. ."....it was Iraqi forces, not US"
That is important because the US is training the Iraqi forces.

From some reports, they're just thugs with guns, and are exacerbating the situation with heavy-handed tactics.

10. "Hell on earth ..."
Considering it's about 110 in the shade on any given day, it wouldn't take long. :(

People can be such bastards to each other!

7. Randi reported that people are put in metal boxes and
left in the desert under a blistering sun for days on end.
Sometimes the people in the boxes were "lucky" if their
captors shot bullets into the boxes... then the prisoners
could, at least, get some air.

I thought I'd throw up after hearing that.

Oh God, it's too much.
