Kay Bailey Hutchison lied her ass off on Hardball
Edited on Fri Jul-15-05 10:12 PM by Zen Democrat
She said "The Democrats asked for a Special Prosecutor and were granted one."

She must be aware that the CIA -- George Tenet specifically -- asked the Justice Department to appoint a Special Prosecutor.

Sheesh. The lying is just gagging me.

1. Now, did ANYONE call her on this LIE?
Edited on Fri Jul-15-05 10:30 PM by xray s
I didn't think so.

The Republicans have one overriding objective. To convince America that this criminal investigation is nothing more than a political witchhunt.

Thnaks to our whore media, they are succeeding.

3. Of course not. She began her remarks with this and rambled on
and by the time she was finished the lie was just laying on the table and no one touched it.

12. There were probably too many to count.
You have to be taking notes furiously to come close to covering them. And then you have to prioritize.

Of course, it would be nice if someone would call her on ONE of them.

6. David Gregory just grinned.
He is well aware of her status and thought you would be also. He tried more than most.

4. Yes, IIRC, Asscroft appointed Mr. Fitzgerald and
then recused himself.

11. Actually, I believe that Dep. AG James Comey appointed Fitzgerald
because Asscroft (I like that) recused himself as soon as the request came in from the CIA.

17. You are correct. I found this from Comey
Unfortunately it is from a Faux link, but here is the snip from his statement on the occurrence of Asscroft's (heh, heh) recusal:

By his recusal, of course, the attorney general left to me the decision about how to chose a counsel, who that person should be and what the person's mandate should be. In anticipation of this development, I have given a great deal of thought to this in recent days and have decided that, effective immediately, the United States attorney for the Northern District of Illinois, Patrick J. Fitzgerald, will serve as special counsel in charge of this matter.

9. She's not too bright. They always trot her out for talking points.
And that's about all she's capable of spouting because there isn't much grey matter in her teensy little brainpan.

Gregory, who was sitting in for Tweety, asked her why Rove didn't check with the CIA before talking to Cooper and outing "Wilson's wife". She started saying something about how Rove didn't mention her "name" and Gregory interrupted her and repeated his question.

Hutchison then seem to have a "deer in the headlights moment". She looked truly baffled for a second or two and then went on again with an irrelevancy. Gregory gave up on her and asked someone else a question.

She's really awfully dumb.

16. She's swallowed a LOT OF HAIR SPRAY
Ya'll have no idea what long term effects Texas big hair takes on a woman.

And she must have inhaled often.

God, I dislike her. She was accused of cheating and using taxpayer/state employees to campaign for her when she was a state level official - I think it was treasurer (late and I can't think clearly right now)

She was also accused by a staffer of violence. The staffer said she had an endearing habit of hitting anyone who disagreed with her or provoked with files. She tried to say that it was all in fun.

I AM SO SORRY TO EVERYONE FOR THE STUPID MORONS WE KEEP SENDING TO D.C. - BUT DO YOU REALLY THINK THAT WE WANT THEM HERE?

PLEASE LET THEM PLAY A LITTLE LONGER - IF YOU DON'T THEY WILL WANT TO COME BACK HOME - AND WE NEED THE CRAZY SPACE!

20. Hutchison is and always has been a Rove "client"
Edited on Fri Jul-15-05 10:39 PM by Zen Democrat
In fact, that little unpleasantness in Texas when she was State Treasurer ... well, it was Rove's hardballing that got her off. Rove's calling in his markers here and putting Lil Kay (another cheerleader, sigh) out in front to spin and lie. Like so many others, she owes him.

19. She is a political whore.
And of course, Gregory didn't contest any of the WH talking points/lies. He seems to be operating from the "give them enough rope and they will hang themselves" approach.

He may be right. Their imaginary explanations seem to change as they embellish each lie with more bullshit LIES. Thankfully all the operatives' "straight-forward and honest" testaments paraded on the TV have been recorded by the networks.

When the truth does come out, they will be exposed for the dissemblers that they are. I can only hope.

21. I missed it, but I'm constantly AMAZED
at the lies, and their propagation, today.

It's gotten worse and worse since 2000.

Being "on message" and "disciplined" for this cabal simply means "spreading lies." And most people, casually tuning in for new bytes here and there, aren't able to get close to the truth.
