Now, trial and conviction would be another matter. A few years in jail would effectively put him out of touch. Unfortunately, this case, even if it proceeds, isn't going to come to a conclusion until Bush is almost out of office. If Rove gets convicted late in Bush's term, the prospect of a pardon would be very real, sad to say.
