1. That's everything Mehlman said in Wold Blitzer's interview.
Pathetic. They should put the talking points on screen while they interview guys like this.

16. Yup, I noticed that.
Reading this list took me right back to the interview with Mehlman. It's like he was reading this list off a teleprompter, but threw in a bunch of references to Hillary Clinton, Howard Dean and John Kerry to liven things up.

2. Wow
They really ARE fucked.

Those talking points basically boil down to "Wilson is a Democrat and his wife sent him to Niger, not Cheney.".

What the fuck does that have to do with outing a CIA asset?

No, I refuse to believe that even the stupidest of sheeple will actually buy this garbage. It is simply pathetically weak propaganda.

If THIS is all they've got, they're in worse trouble than we realize.

13. True, of course
But not a critical mass of people enough to maintain the mass illusion.

3. We should have a betting pool
on who can find the most lies in that thing.

I thought this was the crowd that answered to a higher authority? What ever happened to telling the truth?

4. Well, I feel better now.
Now that Iraq has admitted buying yellowcake, harbouring Al Qaeda and being responsible for the nuclear attack on Tierra Del Fuego......

Oh wait, that's an alternate reality. I really need to pay more attention to which parallel universe I'm in.:sarcasm: :sarcasm:

6. this is great
all that the Republicans are doing is trying to shift focus onto inconsistencies in Joe Wilson's story, which may be an interesting side story, but just isn't as interesting as the presidents righthand man leaking classified info.
I don't think this tactic will work, because it really does -in a sad sort of way- come down to which is the most interesting story, which story holds people's imagination. I think they are playing the wrong angle. If they had any brains, they would make him a sacrificial lamb and get on with it. But they wont. So lets keep this in the news, lets keep this in people's mind and lets watch Karl drag the rest of the party down.
The best thing our leaders can do is not get too carried away and seem too eager and discredit this as a lame partisan thing. But there is blood in the water, by golly, and I know the press is going to relish this, just like every over sleazy story.

8. So
who's gonna help * with his talking points when Rove is gone? It's gonna implode if they can't find as good a propagandist as KKKarl.

11. How can they live with themselves, knowing
that all they do all day is repeat talking points?

Wouldn't it be embarrassing to be caught repeating shit from a memo someone sent you and passing it off as your own words?

I couldn't do it, but then again I'm not a republican.

12. WHAT THE REPUBS WANT
Is for us to get bogged down trying to defend Joe Wilson, to get lost in the details of whether or not he was qualified dadada. Now, I don't have anything against Joe, but forget him.

They are trying to obscure the picture, and we need to focus it like a laser on the real issue:

Did Karl Rove leak classified information?
that is the heart of the issue.
Don't let the Repubs trick us into wandering off the subject arguing semantics.

stay on point. Focus. Karl Rove is the story, not Joe Wilson or his wife.

14. But here's the depressing part:
I've heard this entire spiel repeated, almost verbatim today on every single broadcast news and cable news outlet I've listened too. The Repugs have this amazing ability to stay on message and if you repeat a lie often enough. . . . they are trying to discredit Wilson and basically say that his wife "deserved" to be outed because Wilson was a "liar" and a "liberal Dem." This is what we're up against here folks! Oh--and the new meme? "Liberal media."

15. My E-Mail to the Scum Bucket
Edited on Tue Jul-12-05 07:34 PM by IdaBriggs
It is rare that the public gets to actually learn the names of those who abet high crimes against this country, but today, in learning of you, we learned the name of a human being who has chosen to put Party above Country, Politics above Truth, and Personal Interest above Justice. Your "talking points" memo is currently posted at http://rawstory.com/news/2005/Exclusive_GOP_talking_points_on_Rove_seek_to_discre_0712.html and your e-mail address is there as well. What an eye opener it was!

I am completely shocked and appalled by your willingness to ignore TREASON; I always thought Republican support of Terrorism was nothing but a joke until I read your attempts to "spin" the outing of a covert CIA agent into nothing but a political battle. Now, unfortunately, I understand how YOUR JOB is to LIE and protect the careers of TRAITORS. You disgust me.

I will do everything I can to help spread your "talking points" to everyone I know so they can learn that NATIONAL REPUBLICANS ARE NOT LOYAL TO AMERICAN INTERESTS, have no care or concern for the safety and well being of our intelligence officers or our citizens, and put their personal paychecks ahead of innocent lives. You are an accessory after the fact, and regardless of whether you are ever charged with a crime, you are as guilty as those who committed the original crimes, because YOU are trying to help cover them up.

I hope your thirty pieces of silver help you to sleep at night; I doubt you even understand how slimey your actions really are, or even particularly care, but be assured of one thing:

I won't forget.

With Complete Disrespect,
Mrs. Ida Briggs

ON EDIT: Removing my e-mail!

he said about Edwards during the debate and it turned out to be a big fat lie.

20. How many "reporters" have been using these talking points?
How about on faux news, using the talking points? If so, wouldn't this create problems for them??

I think it is great that someone spilled the beans on this, but I think that it is very telling. How many times in the past have we heard "reporters" use the same rw talking points as if they had received a memo. I think the press have a lot more to say...

24. Just sent the link out to my peeps with the suggestion that they
use the talking points to create a drinking game or to fill in squares for a match of Bullshit Bingo.
Yeah, that's the caliber of my peeps. But it will get them to watch the news and see the spin in action. I think it will open some eyes.
