that is a trend that occurs after election cycles. folks get tired of the left and they lean right, they get sick of the right and they lean left. i wonder if we'll ever see the left leaning trend? the right has brought us to this point, folks may be getting slightly sick of them though.

1. If bu$h leaves office, the people will never know.
The TV networks will not report it. Rather (and I use the term Luce-ly), they will continue to show file footage of Dear Leader addressing this or that hand-picked group of worshippers, jetting off to Important Talks with world leaders and going about the Hard Work of being the pResident. A life-size cardboard cutout of bu$hler will be used when the stock footage will not work, and Murkins will marvel at the sudden increase in his IQ.

3. Yeah, I think you've got the right idea. "The TV networks will not
report it." And that is a great animation, mopaul!

"...will the nation lean left?" Depends on what you mean by "the nation." If you mean that which is depicted by the news monopolies as "the nation," it will seem to "lean" a teensy-weensy bit to the left, say, with our puff adder new Democratic leaders being against the looting of Social Security. That is, we'll go back to square one. Reaganism. A wholly re-written tax code to favor the rich; deregulation of everything; bloated military budget, etc. And they'll call it leftist.

But if we you mean the REAL "nation," it is way left now, was on Nov. 2, 2004, and was way back before the invasion of Iraq. We just can't get our votes counted, nor are we permitted to choose a real antiwar candidate and populist to run for president on our behalf.

Note: Nearly 60% of Americans opposed the Iraq war BEFORE the invasion--even before we all knew it was a 100% pack of lies. I will never forget that statistic. And, after the initial fighting (with troops at risk) that figure went right back up to nearly 60%, where it stood through the election, and has shot up to about 80% today. 63% of Americans oppose torturing prisoners UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. Americans oppose every major Bush policy, foreign and domestic--way up in the 60% to 70% range. Most Americans are tolerant, fair-minded, justice-loving, and generous--but their voices are not heard, and their votes have been stolen by Bushite controlled, electronic voting machines, that use SECRET, PROPRIETARY software. And we rarely get to see THIS America, the REAL American, depicted in corporate, war-profiteering news monopolies, which give a BIG TRUMPET to the rightwing MINORITY.

"...will the nation lean left?" It already is. If you mean the news monopolies' ILLUSION of "the nation," we'll see what crap they try to foist off upon this LARGELY LIBERAL NATION when the corporate-owned election systems (Diebold, ES&S and Sequoia) decide who our president is going to be.

4. You'll forgive me if I don't hold my breath on either thing happening
You see I have this thing about people. That thing being that I think many, if not most of them are idiots. Or at least just enough so as to not allow either one of these things you mention to happen.
