If only Americans could see Bush thru the cameras of foreign countries.
Edited on Sat Jul-09-05 11:44 AM by glarius
I wish Americans could see Bush performing as we in other countries are able to see him. Not through the filter of CNN or the U.S.A. media, but as he really is.
Bush has a look of frightened confusion, almost terror on his face when he is seen in conversation among the world leaders...He looks like a school boy who doesn't know what he's supposed to say or do....in way over his head....when captured by the cameras of CBC or BBC. Not of course on CNN or American networks....They only show him at his best...
It must be frustrating for the other leaders, who have to deal with his ignorance and bullheadedness...It will be interesting to see what some of these leaders have to say about him in the future, when they are all out of office!....

P.S....I think of Pres. Clinton, who was so knowledgeable and at ease with the other leaders....Clinton was and still is welcome everywhere!...What a contrast!!!...:)

1. Clinton was real
he really did earn his Rhodes Scholarship, he really was smart, he really cared about our nation.

Bush is a fake cowboy who slid through college and life on family connections. Like many stupid people, he thinks he can do a lot more than he is capable of doing. It's only when he gets in a situation where he realizes he's in over his head that the panic sets in. That's why his handlers over here have taken pains to make sure the US media only shows him in his best light. In their arrogance, they have discounted the opinions of the rest of the world, which will be the undoing of Bush (I hope).

5. Bush
Actually, I hope we can undo him here. When other nations have to step in to undo another nation's leadership (change regimes) it does get messy.

2. I'm sure
Yes, those of us who were paying attention are well aware of the Canadian minister (what department of government I do not remember) who candidly stated her opinion that Bush was an idiot when she did not know that her words were being broadcast or recorded . . .

3. I agree w/your observations, Glarius. May I ask where you are
in this big world of ours? :)

I often feel like I belong in a country other than this one. I am growing weary of many of the attitudes here.

:(

On another board I once frequented, I was told that Clinton was viewed quite favorably overseas. This was my first inclination I may be in the wrong place. LOL! I don't see how anyone could look at that crazy-eyed, slur speeched, inarticulate boob and think he should be leading anything or anyone.

11. I live in the province of Ontario in Canada.....We often saw Clinton here

and he still comes for different functions....He is always met with large, welcoming crowds....It's not only his intelligence and knowledge of the world that is impressive....But he does not have the mean-spiritedness of Bush, which is so apparent, no matter how the Republicans try to sell him as the guy you'd love to have a beer with!....

14. YES! So many people seem to miss the mean spirited nature.
If I live to be 100 I will never get how people don't see that--his obvious intolerance, mean spiritedness, arrogance. That dumb ass, college frat boy, keg party attendee swagger irritates me to no end.

Oh, btw--nice meeting you!(Didn't mean to go off on a tangent there.) I can't wait to visit Canada. A country that makes a grand showing to see Clinton is my kind of place! :bounce:

6. What's really disturbing to contemplate....
is that.... if they've been able to get away with all they've gotten away with with the dim-wit frontman that they've had for the last six years... what happens when they install someone with an actual brain?

I'm thinking, for instance, Jeb ( who apears to function in the average range of intelligence). Why would someone vote for W and not for Jeb?

12. If Jeb is put in office, I promise I will leave this country...
I will not live under another bush dynasty regime. The father and the son we've been dealing with have been more than my fill, thank you very much.

7. We could not bear it!
Edited on Sat Jul-09-05 11:16 AM by magnolia
I can't even watch the slicked up version without cringing with embarassment. The closest we came to seeing the real deal was the first debate with John Kerry. I thought at the time..."that's it...the jig is up!" But now I honestly believe that those who support him are in deep denial because they can't handle the truth.

8. mayabe we should start a collection of such images and put them
on the web - it would even be better to post pictures and video/interviews shot by 'foreign' media and compare it online to US media coverage.

Plus that, the boy king's spin machine would find a way to dismiss each and every photo we could find. You just know they would...

Yes, if we could see ourselves as others see us!
I have been in Mexico and visited with close freinds from France. The husband (first trip to U$) of one of my godchildren, went bonkers when on the news Bu$h was called the Leader of the Free World!

16. He always looks like an awkward schoolchild to me.
Compared with the pride I felt when I heard Clinton speak in other countries, the shame I feel whenever I see our current "president" is all the more painful.

Possibly the worst is seeing him with Blair. The striking contrast tells it all. One an urbane, sophisticated diplomat, the other a clueless cowboy. How come the cowboy has to be our guy?

18. he looks exactly the same way here, I have no idea why 52% of us
still think he is okay.

The strangest thing I've ever seen. Is it tax cuts? Him being percieved as being tough and macho? I'm lost on this one.
