A Few Things Missing from the Uranium Debate
First of all, uranium would be useless to Iraq in developing a nuclear weapons program. The power source that would be needed to enrich this uranium would easily be spotted by American spy sattelites, according to the IAEA.

Secondly, trying to obtain uranium and actually obtaining it are two very different things. If uranium was not obtained, then the sanctions were working. No one has ever suggested that Saddam Hussein didn't want to reconstitute his NBC weapons programs. However, there were significant obstacles to his doing so, especially with regards to a nuclear program.
