2. A demagogue pretends to be as stupid as his audience
so his audience will think they are as clever as he.

4. Because 'looks' and posture and 'style' trump substance
besides idiot boy, another good example is that idiot they ran against Landrieu in La. Suzy Terrell.
They have no problem doing whatever it takes to fill the office.
Fill the nomination, fill the suit, fill it full of good old BS smoke and mirrors.

Sorry, I just saw that this is one of the poll options. Factor in one less for Other and put it under the manipulation column

7. I strongly disagree with the choice that's now in the lead - that
"ignoramuses are easily manipulated." Bush is no puppet. He has a definite class interest in the policies he advocates. No one has to "manipulate" him, because he's been raised his whole life to represent exactly those class interests that benefit from what he does. Make no mistake -- he's "into" it.

He needs tutoring on what to say, & on subjects that require facts, of course. But the underlying philosophy is something he wholly subscribes to.

10. That's exactly what Al Franken and Mark Crispin Miller say
and they're pretty damned convincing. So which one would you vote for--or what is your explanation for this phenomenon?

11. Because Their Base Can Feel Like They Really Know Him
and they are just like him, etc.. it's that stupid old "who would you like to have a beer with" standard that the repukes have. Intelligence or experience has nothing to do with it.
