10. I tend to agree with you (I hope we're right!)
Seriously, the Rove-Plame connection will be off the MSM radar for now (it really wasn't "front-page" level yet anyway). But the work into the investigation will still be going on like before, and in a few days something will break on that story that will bring it back to the attention of the media and we'll hear more about it.
There will always be missing children/pop-star scandals/terrorist activity/etc. that will make the headlines and top-of-the-hour updates. But it only takes the public's focus off of the important things; it doesn't make them go away.
hammering home the message that the USA had Usama bin Laden trapped, then let him go. We had the best fighting forces on earth where they needed to be to protect innocent people from terrorist attacks, but Bush removed them in order to invade Iraq. I am convinced that others will be thinking along similar lines in the upcoming days.
Billions of dollars for protection, billions of dollars spent on 'security' and we are still vulnerable. (We being The West.) Kerry and numerous other Democrats were right.
BTW, Sen. Kerry's daughter Vanessa is a an MD studying in London. She has probably been called into work to tend to the needy.
We are not at the beginning of the War on Terror, we have been going through this for almost 4 years. It is entirely possible that the reaction to this will focus on incompetence and how such a thing as the London bombings could be allowed to happen after all the money that has been spent on security.
The beginning of a War is when everyone becomes SuperPatriots. The end/middle of a war is when people begin to question their leaders and ask troubling questions about how events could unfold as they did. People are not fools.
