The Conservatives Are Riled Over The Ten-Commandments……
Edited on Wed Jun-29-05 09:28 PM by The Whiskey Priest
That is about being able to display them……I wonder how they would feel about observing them….

Now here is one we could start with…

Remember the Sabbath to keep it holy. You can work during the six weekdays and do all your tasks. But Saturday is the Sabbath to God your Lord. Do not do anything that constitutes work. you, your son, your daughter, your slave, your maid, your animal, and the foreigner in your gates. It was during the six weekdays that God made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on Saturday. God therefore blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

This interpretation of this, literally, would mean that WalMart would need to close down midnight Friday and not reopen until midnight Saturday. Of course that would be the same for everything….I am sure that the capitalist would love observing that commandment.

4. It's like segregationists who flew the rebel flag
It was a message in their locale about who was in charge. Same with the Commandment people, in my opinion, in the sense that displaying the Commandments lets people know that the fundamentalists run the show in their little part of the world.

6. An ethical vacuum

I bet if they were hung everywhere the history of mankind would have been free of greed, corruption, murder, rape, pillage and WalMart staying open 24-7
