Damage Control (lack their of)
Edited on Mon Jul-14-03 10:01 AM by Homer12
Forged Niger documents:

IS their a general lack of damage control?

What could be the reasons?

Do they have an ace in the hole strategy? Do they even care?

Are they imploding on eachother becuase of so many lies, distrotions, half-truths, and manipulations?

Or are they going to fight back this week some how, starting with the press conference today?

A complete disconnect from reality!

Anybody have any ideas? I'm at a loss at the moment.

2. A simple miscalculation due to groupthink
They didn't think they'd get caught. They KNEW they were right about Saddam, so it didn't really matter what they said. Just use the worst stuff we got, and we need something about Nukes to really nail the case and make sure Congers doesn't fade on it. Niger thing isn't exactly true? So what. Tons of WMD just lying around over there. Once we've won, we'll be pulling the stuff out in trainloads. Nobody'll care about details like this.

But karma has a funny way of catching you with your pants down. I think they're genuinely up against it this time, and Tenet's non-mea-culpa-mea-culpa just ain't gonna do it. They're trying to play their cards as best they can--got no other choice--but it just isn't a good enough hand this time. And it's too late to stack the deck.
