My Ten-Point Plan for Victory in Iraq
1. Establish specific numbers for Iraqi soldiers and police required to provide their own security.

2. Establish specific numbers for U.S. soldiers that can be released as Iraqi numeric targets are reached.

3. Declare victory and announce the U.S withdrawal per the numeric schedule - not a calendar schedule.

4. Draw down about 10% of U.S. forces to show good faith by taking the first step.

5. Halt all U.S. offensive operations and concentrate on training, guarding, and patrolling borders.

6. Bring Iraqi recruits to the U.S. for training alongside U.S. recruits.

7. Involve other countries in the training in order to accelerate the plan and get international support.

8. No profiteering. Eject U.S. companies and their personnel from Iraq.

9. Relinquish all plans to establish permanent bases in Iraq.

10. Fire Rumsfeld to acknowledge that we've made some bad mistakes in Iraq.

1. That would be a beautiful way to extricate ourselves from this morass
Except, Georgie boy is trying to build an Empire.

And that takes "Hard Work", "Resolve" and "perseverance"

3. Be careful
You can't let the enemy see your plan. Bush's lame excuse for not having a plan.

I think #8 & #9 would have the greatest effect in restoring our credibilty. #10 would be a small victory but I'm afraid of his replacement.

4. I would add two more points.
11. Pour in aid. These people are forced to live without basic sustenance.

12. Immediate award of infrastructure-related contracts to Iraqi companies. Gotta' get those basic services back up.

6. Sounds like a plan
You should send that to Democratic Senators and Reps.

I especially think number 10 is important although, to allow him to save face, call it a resignation and not a firing and put a timetable on it of say 6 months to prepare a proper successor.
