Unfortunately, it is the right decision.
You cannot display a belief system over another one. (Christianity vs. Buddism/Judism/Islam).

Why can't you display one belief system over another when that belief system is the foundation of your country and it's laws?

Had nothing to do with a belief system.
It has to do with philosophy.
So you think we should revert to Sharia law then?

It's sad that you are the only person on this thread that noticed that.
The 10 commandments have nothing to do with modern law. Breaking most of the commandments isn't even illegal today (I think only 6 and 8 are illegal).
Take commandment one for example:
"You shall have no other gods before Me."
If anything that is the anti-thesis of the constitution isn't it?
Isn't this just a case of people who want to publicise their relgion everywhere just getting hot under the collar that they can't?
I will probably recieve a beating for posting this...

Try Christianity/Judaism vs. Buddhism/Islam.
It's not an endorsement of one religion over another. It's also not an endorsement of religion. The display of the Ten Commandements is a worthwhile recognition of the history of our legal system. IMO (which doesn't count for much since I'm not on the Supreme Court and they are the ALL MIGHTY RULERS).

Yeah, sure you can. If this was Myanmar, you could display Buddha's Eightfold Righteous Path. If this was Riyadh, you could have a couple of verses of Qu'ran in gold. If this was Jerusalem you could have a monument to Hillel, Gamaliel, Maimonides, and (come to think of it) Moses. Because those would be the roots of their legal and social traditions.
This is the USA. Our roots go through English Common Law, Magna Carta, Lex Romana, and the Decalogue.
The one that some 80% of us have in our own homes in a --- book ---- somewhere, is the Ten Commandments. It is by far the most imporant souce of our law, because it is the source of our civilization.
But the Judges of the Court --- like the EUrocrats across the sea --- pretend massive ignorance of this stupendously obvious fact. The voters of Europe have scuttled the proposed EU constitution. What do WE have to do?

You might be right, from what i've heard it seems to me like a 'gray area'. Unlike the KETO case. I'll reserve judgement until i know more...

Sure you can. The liberals just don't want you to, and have persuaded the courts to go along with it.
But the Supreme Court has been morally wrong before, even when following the letter of the Constitution rather than their own penumbras. (Dred Scott).
Full Disclosure:
Maybe you forgot to look in your "open-mindedness", but the last time I checked, the Ten Commandments were JEWISH, not Christian. Poor reference on your part.
