1. That's being a good buddy
We gotta take chances in life.
Anyway - better to learn about bottle rockets from someone who knows
than thru trial and error.

7. good dad
my dad+uncle do stuff like that with me, it teaches that not everything like that is bad if it's used responsibly.

6. My stepdad and I did that when I was a kid
We went to a field and shot them off for over an hour. Had a great time and it's one of my favorite memories.

10. Umm. not exactly a great thing to teach a 10 year old..
I appreciate that you spent time with your son, teaching him about something. Could you have picked something that does not have the potential to maim him for life? Or perhaps something that cannot start a neighbors field on fire? Just a thought.. could you have picked something non-dangerous and illegal and still had the warm moments?

If you only have your son sometimes (as I'm assuming from your comment about divorced dad), then I hope the boy's mother doesn't smack you on the head for teaching something that will get him in trouble if you're not around every day.

From a female point of view... other than that. it's cool.
