Cheney update (god, they lie about EVERYthing!)
Cheney must be shitting that Arianna was in Vail tonight --- what are the odds of that?

From the HuffPost:

VAIL -- Why is the White House still insisting that the only health issue Vice President Cheney dealt with today is an old football injury to his knee, visiting renowned orthopedist Dr. Richard Steadman? At the Vail Valley Institute dinner tonight, I kept asking what those in the know here knew. Little by little, here is the story I pieced together: After the Secret Service secured the Vail Valley Medical Center, including the parking lot, the Vice President arrived under his own power and checked in at the orthopedic center under the name “Dr. Hoffman”. He was immediately whisked to the adjacent cardiac unit, suffering from what was described to me as “an angina attack”. The security was so high that a Secret Service agent wouldn’t let an ER nurse out of the bathroom that she had gone into just before the Veep arrived. “Get back in there,” the agent told her. Confounded, she called her husband on her cell phone, telling him “something big” was going on. And indeed it was… but you wouldn’t know it from the White House. It appears that not only doesn’t the public deserve to know what is really going on in Iraq (“last throes”?) we don’t deserve to know what is going on with our Vice President’s health.

1. Tsk. Tsk. Must be a bitch to be that paranoid
We've known he has a bad heart since they stole the first election.

What is he hiding for?

4. All that lying is hard on the heart
I'm serious. These games they are playing, these tales they are spinning and the denial they are in will take it's toll.

28. I think what he wants to hide is that we're stressing him out.
The truth is out now, and the options for Cheney and Bush to come out of this Reaganlike are dwindling.

5. I wouldn't personally harm him
But I'd lose no tears if he died face down in a gutter somewhere in Bangladesh. It would be kind of fitting, in an ironic way.

27. Vice President Dick is the first person whose death I would celebrate.
It would be to our country's benefit if this misguided miscreant found himself in a "better place". I believe he is more responsible than the feckless ** for the low point we are at today. With him gone, we could make a new start.

19. Whoever the boyking chooses
Condi, mayhaps??? That's my guess--avoids the whole having to run her issue, and gives her a leg up for 08. Also, it puts her where she could never be if she had to actually campaign, and she is an obedient little servant.

It won't be a Nelson Rockefeller type, that's for sure!

But a criminal who needs to stay on top of the syndicate enjoys no such luxury. He'll probably croak on the job...

13. The enthralling greed of power is the ultimate drug
It's much better than killing a few hundred farm-raised birds that have had their feet glued onto fence posts for the sheer thrill of it.

Hunger at its worst is the province of deeply ugly conquerers like him.

He'll never loose the reins, anymore than Junior will ever admit a mistake or we'll ever leave Iraq. Such suppositions are the ramblings of the sweet or naive.

I want Junior to live long and experience the ignominy of his worthlessness. Cheney won't. Too bad he won't; it'd be good to see him sneering and gnashing his teeth at being exposed.

18. Either that
or if he did ever want to resign (heh) for the public eye Bush wouldn't let him so thus would make Cheney look like a decent guy to the eye and all that. He'd rather sacrifice his own health just to get all the Halliburton profits which would be left to his family. I remember once not long after last November he drove himself to the hospital cause he was having minor chest pains.

17. Of course they wouldn't tell us
I remember during the campaigning season Bush "delayed" his health report and in the end it turned out the "official" report was he gained a little weight from fast food and stuff like that. I wonder how bad they both really truly are. We can see they clearly are pretty bad off (Bush in the brain and Cheney with health) but they have it protected. I remember someone last year (or maybe earlier this year) posted how some thought that Cheney would step down because of "health" issues and Rice would then be VP and then run for president. Scary thought. Cheney isn't going to go away though until he can give Halliburton (and thus himself) some more profits from this "war."

20. Cheney might run for President in '08 if his health allows it.
That's a rumor that has been going around lately. That could be the reason that they are covering up Cheney's health problems. So Cheney can run for President in '08.

BTW, when did Cheney play football? In high school? I don't think he played ball in college.

21. It was a misunderstanding. He never played football.
He just had an odd bi-sexual, foot fetish experience while high on mimeograph fumes in high school.

30. What's "going on" with the VP's health, is that he has crap for a ticker.
That's why even if he wanted to, there's no way he could be crowned prez in the next go round, he just wouldn't be very likely to SURVIVE another term before his final, lethal, arrhythmia.

If there's an ER nurse, there's an ER. They just tell the people going there for emergency services "screw you, we have more important patients to care for"?
