Another Bush legacy:he's made half this nation more cynical than
ever before and the other half is slipping into deep denial territory that is very reminicent of a certain European population in the 1930's and 40's

Historians are going to be kept very busy in the future writing about this era

1. Well, I can't say it's a good thing, but finally I don't feel so alone.
I've been cynical for what seems to be a decade, but it was the 2000 election when I felt despair for the first time. I remember walking the dog late that night and crying my eyes out. We were in a wooded area and no chance that anybody would see me wail. God, did I feel alone. Even though I eventually found DU, and it has given me some relief, the reality is that walking into the stormy Bush years, while everybody else seemed unaware of the collapse that was coming, was a tremendously unsettling and stressful time. I think I lost faith in a lot of things. I don't know what it's going to take for me to restore that faith in my government and my countrymen.
