All of these negative Clark threads
must mean he's the leader, hmm? I still dont understand why alot of people have to go negative about another candidate in the hope of building up theirs.

1. Pants-Wetting Fear
That's why people go negative, for the most part. I love Dean, I say positive things about Dean, but I notice that lots of Dean supporters just can't do the same for Clark.

It's kind of sad, when a person becomes so invested in their own candidate that they can't see the forest for the trees. Bush is the enemy, not our other Dem candidates.

2. Even worse than both the faux working class
and the defiant working class are the aspiring working classes. By this I mean the petty bourgeois, those with a minor stake in the ownership of the means of production, the second-hand car dealers and scrap iron merchants of this world who equate owning a F reg. Merc with 200,000 miles on the clock and a timeshare in Marbella as a pretty good excuse to look down on the rest of society and vote Tory out of hatred for the people who brought them into the world. Visit any golf club or Rotary charity event and evidence of this kind of behaviour is in abundance.

3. Because he's a phony? because he's not a progressive, not a
Democrat, simply a smiling representative of the military-industrial complex? Because half of what he represents affirms rightwing values & much of their worldview?

4. Gosh, what a helpful post
DoveTurnedHawk, here's one Dean supporter who likes Clark's entry into the race.

6. Thank You
And there are a lot of you. I don't want to generalize to all Dean supporters, or anywhere close. It's just disheartening for me to see it so much, especially since I love Dean.

Dean and Clark, by all accounts, like each other very much. I wish I could say the same about their supporters.

8. At least one article saying this has been debunked...
...check out www.mediawhoresonline.commm

it turns out that the article linking Rove to Clark was just more media Lies- I have to suspect that most of the anti-DEM articles I read at DU are false until proven factual...

5. Some folks will play it this way.

Most have already pledged here and there to keep it fair, civil and positive. If you have a legitimate question, pipe in. If you're just rehashing for spite, it's apparent.

7. You assume a motive that may not be true.
I'd be as "negative" on Clark no matter what. What I've learned about him is NOT reassuring. Sorry.

Despite my own interest in discouraging our unbecoming and unnecessary militarism at this time, I had actually secretly hoped he'd be a good candidate -- lots of people here were very hot for a Dean/Clark or Clark/Dean ticket. I think that would be a disaster. If you guys don't think the GOP will make mincemeat of his record, you're crazy. That equals a loss. (But we have to fix the voting machines problem so we don't have a loss no matter who the nominee is.)
