Holy Shit! Kennedy just asked Rummy why he hasn't resigned!
Rummy: I offered my resignation 2 times to Bush, but Bush has asked him to remain.

it is quite clear who is responsible for his failures. Hold * responsible.

11. If Rummy resigned, who would replace him?
I don't like Rummy either, and a few months ago, I would have assumed it would have been Wolfie, but he's at the WB now. Are we looking at possibly going from the frying pan into the fire?

And I just hate how disrespectful Gen Abizaid was to the Senator. I remember when Senators commanded a measure of respect from the Armed Services.

for funelling into black ops programs and likely some personal Cayman Island accounts as well.

14. This Could Be Fun
Rummy didn't look too comfy. Yep, both CNNServative and MSGOP have shown it and the flop sweat on Rummy rivals that of the day the soldier hit him about the lack of armor.

Yep...keep up the pressure and this one we need not back down. Rummy's been on the ropes before and has done some quick rope a dopes...time to see if we can get a scalp.

Edited on Thu Jun-23-05 10:45 AM by oasis
call people who strap bombs on themselve and blow themselves up?" is what Rummy says now.

IIRC, Rummy and Condi were using the term "dead-enders" at the beginning of the occupation when the weapon of choice was the roadside bomb or (ied).

Anyway, not the first time Rumsfeld has lied and it won't be his last.

28. Kennedy: "In baseball, it's two strikes & you're out...
"...what is it in the Pentagon?"

Did Rummy begin his response by agreeing that Iraq is a quagmire? I can't rewind because I changed the channel, but it seems to me that that is what he said; if so, it would be a great clip because he ended his response by saying that it is outragious to say that Iraq is in a quagmire.

29. That was great!
After having reminded Rummy of some of the things he's had to say. Kennedy also tacked on "in baseball you get three strikes, how many does the secretary get?" Glad I got a chance to see it this is the best day off ever.
