1. I don't know
I mean it might seem pointless, but it would let them know that their districts aren't 100% behind them. Particularly if you included language to suggest a growing number of your friends were also opposed to them.

4. Cornyn and Hutchison.
I send Kay letters and many, many weeks later I get a letter back from her replying to some entirely different topic. It's a twisted little game, but at least I've made her waste a few cents worth of postage and office supplies.

6. Contact them anyway...
I used to be from Kansas and I'd always contact my reps - if only to make sure they knew that everyone wasn't behind them. If they get enough calls, letters, emails it just might make them restrain themselves a bit.

7. you have to contact them otherwise they assume you agree...
just because they are not representative of your opinions doesn't mean you shouldn't let them know you don't approve of the policies of this crooked administration.

8. You should contact them - an email or letter from a consitituent means
more than 100 from people who are not.

9. Ask them, politely, if Karl Rove speaks for them
Rove's comments are clearly meant to say that liberals and Democrats are on the side of the terrorists. Do your Republican elected officials agree with that? If so, why aren't they rounding up such traitors, and if not, then why don't they say that Rove stepped over the line? Republicans want to have it both ways, calling their fellow citizens disloyal, but either not doing anything about it or using such inflammatory rhetoric for purely political purposes.

Your letter or email doesn't have to be real long, and it doesn't have to go greatly in depth, just quote what he said and where you found the quote and ask, Are Karl Rove's comments something they agree with or not?

10. Alexander & Frist suck...
but I bombard them anyway. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry - I sent Frist an email of indignation at his actions in the Schiavo situation, and got his form letter the day her autopsy results came out. Their letters to me are nothing more than pitiful reasonings as to why they could care less about my opinion and why they are going to vote the other way regardless.

11. Same here
I have the same rep and senators. You already know they're going to do as they want, and they don't give a damn how many people oppose them. Unfortunately, in our part of the state opposition is minimal. I've contacted those smarmy vermin before only to receive reich wing talking points in reply or NO reply at all. Contacting them with opposition is an exercise in futility.

12. I got a rather nice letter from Judd Gregg which was a surprise
and a half. Of course he still doesn't "get it" about health care, the topic I wrote him about, and probably never will. New Hampshire has to come up with some electable Democrats.
