Flag Amendment - Time to get all of those flag desecrators
I welcome a constitutional amendment banning flag desecration. Perhaps then all of those Americans I see desecrating it daily will be held accountable.

I look forward to seeing fashion designers take the flag and make (ironically, usually in China…) bandannas, jacket liners, purses, and myriad other pieces of apparel from the flag. It will be great to see those folks held accountable.

It will be great to see persons who leave their flag up day and night – in any kind of weather, or tie a flag on their car and drive around with the flag long past the time when it is tattered, soiled and faded aken to task for they way they dishonor the flag. Those people have been desecrating the flag long enough and must be stopped. I wouldn’t be surprised if the children who were born in 2001 now believe that the flag is pink, gray, and light blue based on the number of flags that are in such horrible condition.

Finally, I look forward to the politicians who being held accountable for they way they dishonor the flag by wrapping themselves in it to deflect attention from the what a poor job they are doing at the things that really need to be done in this country. Perhaps once this amendment passes, they will be able to return to the truly important business such as stifling dissent, racking up greater national debt, and maybe, just maybe, getting around to finding Osama Bin Laden.

It will be great to have all of this unconscionable flag desecration ended.

2. It's a huge problem
in my area. No one can really focus on issues like unemployment, lack of insurance, inflation, environmental issues, the war in Iraq, or anything else. We're still trying to deal with the community-based PTSD that resulted from a flag being burned here in 1967. Thank goodness for the brave patriots in Washington for taking the bull by by its shit on this one.
