Panicked Iraqis Abandon Condolence Tents
BAGHDAD, June21 , 2005 (IslamOnline.net) – "I'm sorry but there won't be majlis Al-Azaa (the traditional grand condolence tent)," Sheikh Hamed Al-Tawil bitterly said after laying his aunt to rest in the family’s tomb in the western town of Fallujah.

“It is something beyond my control but I fear for the lives of innocent people who would come all the way to offer their heartfelt condolences and could be caught up in the midst of indiscriminate attacks or raids by US or Iraqi troops,” he told dumbfounded friends and mourners.

Tawil added that he further wanted to spare them the humiliation of being queued and frisked by American and Iraqis troops if they were venturing into a military base.
