Oops! Republican Curt Weldon Banished from The O'Reilly Factor

Oops! Republican Curt Weldon Banished from The O'Reilly Factor

Pennsylvania Congressman Curt Weldon was a no-show for a scheduled interview on last night's O'Reilly Factor. Host O'Reilly noted that Weldon "didn't show up, didn't call, didn't do anything. ... this is grossly irresponsible, so he's banned from The Factor forever and we thought you would like to know what kind of a classy guy the Congressman is. Just didn't show!" Weldon joins Danny Glover as the only guests to bail out on the talk-show host.

Last-minute replacement guest, Judge Andrew Napolitano, noted that, for Rep. Weldon, "this is a career-threatening mistake that he made."

The sad thing is that what Napolitano says is certainly true. For a Republican, ditching a FOX News appearance is a one-way ticket to political oblivion, which corroborates what we News Hounds have been documenting all along- that FOX News Channel is the propaganda arm of the Republican Party. And no good Republican dares offend the likes of Roger Ailes.

For more on Weldon see News Hound Judy's June 16th post John Gibson Falls Down on the Job.

I just heard it said that Republican Curt Weldon had a letter that he'd sent to O`Reilly correcting him on his "spin" entered into The Congressional Record.

1. Who is O'Reilly to lecture anybody on class?

2. Leave the Dark Side, Curt Weldon.
A television show which makes or breaks a politician's career. That is sickening. Especially one with the ratings on a downhill slide like O'Reilly's show.

3. It must have been night before last. I heard Weldon live on the
floor of the House yesterday railing against O'Lielly for the BS about him not making the show. I came in late to hear WHY he was late (work, maybe?) but he was letting Billy Boy have it between the eyes and putting on the Congressional Record. Long after O'Lielly has exited this mortal coil Weldon's words will live on. I was actually impressed with a repug for a change.

It doesn’t happen often, but when one of Bill O’Reilly’s guests fail to appear for an interview, the conservative talk-show host throws a prime-time hissy fit -- and he eternally banishes that guest from Fox News Channel’s "TheO’Reilly Factor."

Case in point: Monday’s no-show by U.S. Rep. Curt Weldon.

Weldon, R-7, of Thornbury, was supposed to promote his new book, "Countdown to Terror," during Monday’s show, but apparently got tied up in a "prolonged" meeting with the U.S. Secretary of Energy and a series of votes on the House floor.

So instead of promulgating the alleged failures of the Central Intelligence Agency -- he says in his book that Iran is plotting a nuclear terrorist attack that would dwarf Sept. 11 -- Weldon got a televised lashing from the conservative icon.

"Well, I have some bad news to report," O’Reilly told his legion of viewers. "Our guest didn’t show up. Congressman Curt Weldon, Republican from Pennsylvania, is supposed to be here right now in front of you. He didn’t show up. He didn’t call. He didn’t do anything."

O’Reilly continued: "He’s the second guest in almost nine years not to show up. We only had two. The first one was Danny Glover, the crazy actor. Now he’s crazy, Danny, so we expected that. But Weldon, this is grossly irresponsible."

5. The egos are just a little to big
over at Faux studios and O'Rilley's show specifically.

They are not even live anymore. I guess they want the right to edit everything out to their perfection.
