Bush's Election Now Almost Meaningless
If a President gets re-selected by chronic lying, and then can't get any of his agenda passed in his second term, because the people start catching on to his lies, was his re selection worth it for either him or his party?

Now he gets to go down in history as not only a bad president, but a bad president who further damaged the country by leaving it polarized and entirely adrift for four more long years.

Not a good omen for Republicans.

1. WORST president
and anyway if he gets re-selected due to chronic lying, then he needs to be IMPEACHED.

2. I think it is meaningful
IT shows that the Republicans aren't going to stop abusing power until the people wake up and take back thier country.

3. it also forces the larger issues...
like what our government really does...into the open. Only since the election, have I become aware of all the dirty deeds that have been woven into the fabric of my own history.

5. That is true of course, but
many if not most Republicans have their heads either in the sand or up their asses. I am still frequently amazed at their capacity for self delusion. I would like to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that eventually even they will finally catch on, but at this point I remain skeptical. One can only hope, I suppose.

6. Certainly not meaningless to those who
have depleted the surpluses, installed
radical rightwing judges for lifetime
appointments, filled the coffers of defense
contractors, raised profits for the Carlyle
Group, loosened environment standards on
businesses, limited civil rights on
citizens, installed pre-emptive measures
and policies, gotten hefty tax cuts,
redistricted states in their favor etc.

Bush has definitely been good for his
own...not for the rest of us and certainly
not for Lady Liberty.

8. They have won everything. If they can steal elections, the corporations
can just continue to run this bust-out operation on our wonderful country till the cows come home, then start on China, I guess.

10. I think the GOP is going to fall apart because of this
administration. Conservatives who consider themselves Americans first and Republicans second I think will form a new party.

11. Bush election was always meaningless.
It was mired by fraud and manipulation, just another stolen election with interest.

12. But he's the incumbent...he's in power
So that doesn't make his 'election' meaningless, unfortunately. God help us, he's the one occupying 1600 Penn Ave.
