Who just watched NOW on PBS?
That Texas girl who was giving the fundies both barrels completley rocked!

For her gallantry in the face of the enemy I hereby award her a medal!

1. She was AWESOME, wasn't she?
I loved it when she slapped down the fundie who questioned her morals and said she wasn't a good christian.

Did you see the other story about the judges? I couldn't believe the reporter actually asked the judge, "Why shouldn't you base your decisions on popular opinion?" :wtf:

That's right .. let's ignore all laws and make legal decisons based on popular opinion. Heck, we won't even need any judges if we do that! :eyes:

2. No, I was playing Pirates! at the time.
I had come out to get back to modding, and I watched this bit and was amazed at this great woman.

4. It was a report on ...
how the Christian Right is attacking "activist judges".

The judge who was being interviewd (sorry, I don't know his name), made some very good points about them trying to force their religion into our laws. He said, "We comdemn Iran for inserting the Quran into their laws, but aren't we doing the same thing?"

When the reporter asked why judges "shouldn't be basing their decisions on public opinion", his reply was something like, "If we did that, African-Americans would still be going to separate but equal schools."

:-)
