Oh great Bush going to talk to us more
Short period of time? Two years. That's a short period of time. The only progress accomplished in Iraq was it got GWB re-elected. The sham war worked. But I doubt he's going to talk about that.

"The president recognizes that this is a concern that's on the minds of the American people," McClellan said. "That's why he's going to sharpen his focus, spending more time talking about the progress that's being made on the ground — there's significant progress that has been made in a short period of time — the dangers that remain and that lie ahead, as well as our strategy for victory in Iraq."

11. well
If his popularity was 43 % then there really would be nothing anyone could have done to get him back into office. The fact that the war and Americans fearing for their security kept him near 50 % during the most important months got him back into office. Weither you believe he cheated or not.

3. good grief
I don't want him to sharpen his focus on how to frame the propaganda the right way. I want him to sharpen the focus on how he's going to get the troops out of there.

16. in short you want him to admit he was wrong.
HAHAHA. No, see, the problem is not that the war is a fucking disaster - it's that it needs a new and improved marketing push.

8. Remember when * was going to give a "series" of six speeches
before the much vaunted handover of soveriegnty? He gave one at the Army War college where they were under orders to be attentive and respectful and he bombed big time. He tried three times to pronounce "Abu Ghraib" then gave up. The other speeches never happened. This will be the same.

9. He's sort of like the teacher or parent who keeps saying
"OK, this time things are gonna be DIFFERENT! I MEAN it!"

And you just roll your eyes and know that actually, they won't be any different.

All show and no go is what my husband calls it.

19. Just imagine
the SS tour all over again. I mean I think this is the best thign we could hope for. If Bush is really going to put focus on the war the press will have to focus on the war. I mean the dailey death toll coupled next to his rosey fantasy version of what's going on will sink him. Just as in ability in a 6 month SS tour to actually put a plan on the table sank him.

I've missed him. Everything's coming up roses. The insurgents are losing. They are nowhere near Baghdad. All the people love us.
